  11. Fungi of SW Ontario - Lake Huron Region

This project is ongoing and the goal is to collect various species from this specific, unique geographic area. Data will be spatially analyzed along with weather patterns to derive a correlation, if any. The idea is to see if "lake effect" weather patterns make any difference in the growth of species type and quantity, year to year. This information may be used to update localized field guides if there is a difference in growth patterns compared to inland.

  12. Hygrophoraceae of Lower Puget Sound

Waxcap mushrooms are an often colorful but confusing group within Hygrophoraceae. Hopefully, DNA sequencing through the MP will help unravel some of the confusion between species that look very similar morphologically but have distinctly different DNA results. This Project will look at the group from lower Puget Sound and compare them to other West Coast mushrooms, fungi from this group from Eastern North America - and Europe.
